What Is the End Of The Year Jawn?

The purpose of The Block Gives Backs, “End of Year Jawn” is to cap off our year of “Feed The Block”. We aim to create a festive, extra special day of giving back to individuals and families in need to bring about a sense of camaraderie and friendship.

GOALS:

The goal for TBGB End of The Year Jawn is to not only serve at least 500 people in need but to bring about as many community and city resources to do so. Each year we aim to serve a hot, catered meal along with activities to get the community involved. In addition to the meals, we provide at least 500 custom, canvas tote bags filled with hygiene, winter, and other everyday essentials. 

On top of the giving back aspect of the End of Year Jawn, TBGB calls upon local businesses, community leaders, and organizations to help collect supplies and spread the word about the importance of giving back.

 

How You Can Help.

There are many ways to help make this event even better! You can sign up to volunteer with us, visit our AmazonSmile request list for supplies needed, or help us spread the word. The main way we call on our community other than volunteers is in the form of donations and there are several ways to support The Block. If you’d like to help us help someone else, please use the link below to donate - anything & everything helps.

For “The End Of The Year Jawn” we accept donations at The Block Shop at 6831 Torresdale Avenue. Specifically, we’re looking for the following items and take donations all year round:

  • Food

  • Serving equipment

  • Tote bags

  • Women’s Hygiene Products

  • Soap Bars

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Socks

  • Hats

  • Chapstick

  • Deodorant

  • Lotion
